Indonesia is easily one of the most incredible and unique countries in the world, an archipelago of over 17,500 islands makes it the largest in the world. It’s a strange one really, offering palm tree layered beaches, fascinating rain forests, incredible history and fabulous island getaways, Indonesia is in its own little bubble for what they have to offer. You are left with this unique feeling of being able to escape the mass crowds and left to be isolated, feeling like you’re the only person in the world, which is a marvellous feat considering it houses the fourth largest population in the world.

I don’t think I’ve got the time to go through every island, but I’ll give it a try…
Bali
What better place to start than with the most iconic Indo island there is. With spectacular scenery and a peaceful vibe, it's easy to see why Bali is so many holiday goers place to go! Filled with golden beaches, incredible rainforests, and unrivalled culture it’s hard not to get excited thinking about it.
Kalimantan
Kalimantan is the Indo part of Borneo, a tropical island known for its wilderness, with incredible rainforests filled with a spectacular amount of wildlife like the breathtaking orangutangs. For the true Borneo experience visit the Dayak people and participate in the tribe rituals.
Java
Java is home to the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. But you could argue it is more famous for Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. For the more adventurous you can hike up the ancient volcano, Gunung Bromo, leaving you with unforgettable sunrise views above the clouds.
I think that'll do for islands for now...
As you can tell, Indonesia offers incredible culture, spectacular history and unforgettable scenery but something you don’t always this of is the unique range of wildlife on show, with Elephants, tigers, monkeys, apes hidden deep in the rainforests and jungles. But the one animal we can’t forget is the iconic Komodo Dragon, a large, but rare lizard that will make you look twice if you lock eyes with it.
